Sleep Solutions for Infants and Toddlers

Sleep Solutions for Infants and Toddlers

Who knew sleep could be so complicated?  Children should just sleep when they are tired, right?  For some children, sleep comes easily, and for others, it is something that must be managed and monitored by an ever-vigilant parent or caretaker.  Some children are easily prone to becoming overtired and this oftentimes results in a cranky, over stimulated child who sleeps even more poorly.  Managing a child’s sleep schedule can be a great deal of work but the benefits of having a thriving, well-rested child are well worth the time and effort.

Sleep is a basic need and an essential requirement of your child’s development.   This 4-week program is designed to help parents and caretakers become educated and knowledgeable about their little one’s need for sleep.  It focuses on practical ways to ensure each individual child is getting adequate rest.

Jen Zajac, MSW, LICSW, earned a Master of Social Work degree from Fordham University in Tarrytown, NY in 2002.  She completed post-graduate training at Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts earning a Post-Graduate Certificate in Advanced Practice with Children and Adolescents.  Jen is licensed to practice independently in Massachusetts and currently maintains a private practice as a Child Sleep Consultant and Clinical Social Worker.  She is a member of the Green River Doula Network as well as the Pregnancy and Postpartum Support Coalition of Western Massachusetts facilitated by MotherWoman.  She lives with her husband and son in the Pioneer Valley.

Jen has had the privilege of working with children and families in Western Massachusetts for over ten years.  As a social worker for the State of Massachusetts, she assisted countless local families struggling with a number of challenging problems.  Jen has also worked collaboratively with the Juvenile Court system and was certified as a parenting expert by the Franklin/Hampshire Juvenile Court.  Jen developed an interest in sleep and its restorative functions of the brain and body after working with many overtired children improperly diagnosed with behavior disorders.   She is particularly interested in helping infants and young toddlers remain well-rested.
